In our new chapter we will start to talk about friendship and all of its intricacies.
For this week's post I would like you to answer this question in a couple of paragraphs:
What do you think are the qualities of a true friend? Why?
What makes a good friend? Why?

A true friend doesnt necessarily mean that you two are inseperable and attatched at the hip, but someone who you KNOW is there even though sometimes they physically arent around all the time. I think that this is the best and most important quality in a 'true friend', because though their is time spent apart for, even YEARS at a time...
they still are and will always be there for you.
Agood friend is just someone that (or right now)is good to you. Someone who knows more about you than a stranger, but in 10 or 15 years, you will doubtfully still be friends.
To distinguish a good friend, in my opinion takes time, literally. For example, my first best friend since i was about 3..we talk rarely and we both have our own groups of friends...but when it comes down to it..she knows she has me and i know that i can always turn to her. A good friend is just someone that you can confide in now..but maybe next semester you wont be at that level of friendship. The only way that you can distinguish the two is TIME.
The true qualities of a true friend is someone with whom you can trust and share your life with, without them thinking any less of you. Other qualities of a good friend is that they know exactly what you're going to say before you say it, they can read your eyes and tell you what you're feeling before you even know about your problems yourself. A good friend is someone that'll stay by you throughout your lows and someone that will be with you in your highs.
What makes a good friend is someone with similar traits as you do. A good friend is someone who has an idea of how to help you get out of your problems. I have had some good friends, to think about it I only have three that I really open up to. One that I wanted to give my heart to, but that's not in the cards.
Is friendship really a good basis for love?
A true friend in my opinion is someone who is always there for you. They just "know" you. True friends never leave you hanging.
They are your friend not because they want something but because they want to be. That is the most important quality of a true friend because that is how you know if they really are a true friend or not, and most importantly you can find solace in a true friend.
A good friend is a friend that you have fun with. Good friends are usually those that you have alot of classes with, and because you are around them alot you start forming a friendship. Good friends are there for the "moment" and they can fade really fast over silly things. Thats the major difference between a good and true friend.
I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT A TRUE FRIEND SHOULD ALWAYS BE LOYAL. I THINK THAT LOYALTY SHOWS A PERSONS TRUE COLORS AND I THINK IT ALSO SHOWS HOW MUCH YOUR FRIENDSHIP REALLY MEANS TO THEM. TRUE FRIENDS ARE WITH YOU THROUGH THICK AND THIN. TRUE FRIENDS CHOOSE THEIR BRO'S BEFORE HOE'S...EXCUSE MY EXPRESSION.TRUE FRIENS ARE BASICALLY REAL AND DOWN 2 EARTH.
A GOOD FRIEND HAS YOUR BACK LIKE MY BOY LJ. A GOOD FRIEND WILL PUSH YOU TO TRAIN HARD LIKE MY BOY JOE. A GOOD FREIND WILL FIGHT FOR YOU WHEN YOUR OUT NUMBERED LIKE MY MY BOY JESS AND THE BOYS FROM AGAT BLOOD...IT IS WHAT IT IS. TRUE AND GOOD FRIENDS BECOME MORE THAN FRIENDS THEY BECOME YOUR FAMILY.
I think that a true friend is someone you can count on to always be there without reasonable doubt. A true friend i think is someone who will be there to help you or give you advice without you asking for it. I think that these are some qualities of a true friend because these are the qualities that most of my true friends hold. That is what makes a good friend.
To me, what makes a good friend is someone who is there for you through thick and thin. A good friend is a person who could bring up a smile when you are having a bad day. A good friend is someone who you know won't let you down. You know that you'll have them to talk to or something and they know that they could count on you too.
I think there are many qualities of a true friend but it mostly depends on a person. for me i think the qualities of a good friend are honesty, good sense of humor, and the fact that no matter what happens they won't judge you for what you do or for who you are.
i think a good friend is someone who is always there for you not physically but emotionally. i have friends who i barely see but they're great friends because we still manage to check up on each other or even call just to say hi.
also, a good friend is someone you can just talk to even though you haven't seen each other in years.
I think that there is a fine line between what a true friend and a good friend is. Because a good friend is a true friend, or better yet, a true friend is a GREAT friend. This person --brace yourself for the cliche--is there for you always. YUP! even if it seems like they can't always help, but they do as much as they can and still try.This person knows you inside and out. He or she might even know things about yourself that you don't know, or don't want to admit to yourself. They bring out things in you that you couldn't bring out alone. And of course you have good times with them. Not only do they do things for you, but its all mutual!
OOH YEAH! how can i forget the BIGGIE fries! Trust is a must!
True friends are hard to come by, its as simple as that, because a true friend is someone you trust, love and someone that you really know. Let me ask you this, "Out of all of your friends, all the people you know. Who do you really trust?" Now i am talking about life or death trust. I bet not much people come to mind, and those that you think you trust are a bit "if-ee". I also think true friends know even the little things about you and true friends fight and argue with each other about dumb things. na trus in da end, yer tsru fren is alwaste dare.
I think a good friend is someone that you can talk to, like share stuffs that no other people know. Good friends also have same interests, like someone that you can kickback and chill with. Good friends also help with problems. For instance, a good friend would get out of there way to pick you up at a party when your not in the right state of mind. The qualities that I see in my true friends are honesty and trust. I"m able to count on my true friends and know that no matter what they're always there for me whether its good or bad. I also think honesty is very important. Around them i feel comfortable and i can be open about anything and understand that they accept me good and bad, with my present and past. True friends are forever no matter how far or how many years you go without seeing each other.
My good friends are people i hang out with a lot, the people i have fun with. People that i know will be there if i need them. Come to to think of it true and good friends have similar qualities, I guess with me its just who i'm more open and comfortable being open with.
A true friend is someone you can depend on. Someone you can fight and argue with but at the end of the day, you both know that everything is still cool. A true friend is someone you know really well. when you know what to and what not to say/do to them so that things would only get better.
a good friend is someone who would always have your back. Someone who would stand by you even though youre wrong. SOmeone you can share stupid things and still get positive feedbacks. You know you have a good friend when they treat you like family, like a brother/sister. Basically someone that you can spend time with and do stupid things with, but still get along.
"A friend is someone who would bail you out of jail; A TRUE FRIEND would be in the jail cell with you". This is just a quote that i heard around and found it pertinent to the topic at hand. The quote defines the term TRUE FRIEND. The qualities of a true friend vary from person to person. Personally, i believe that a true friend is someone that you share an unbreakable relationship with. This relationship lasts practically FOREVER. They are a person you can lean on for physical, emotional, and spiritual support. They are the one person who understands your ins and outs. A true friend is someone who is there for you unconditionally for anything. these qualities are the things that set them apart from any other REGULAR friend.
A good friend is someone you enjoy being in the company of. Someone that you hang out with on the regular. Someone that you stroll around with and kick back with. They aren't quite at a True Friend Status, but they have potential and they are closer that just any regular friend. All of ones True Friends were most likely a good friend at on point of time. A good friend is just someone that you hang out with now and that has a chance of becoming a True friend over time.
A true friend isnt just someone who knows you inside and out but also someone who knows a little more about you that perhaps you didnt even know yourself! I think that a true friend would stand up for you whether they have to nark on you or back you up! A true friend never lies to you! When he/she feels you need to know something, they would tell you inspite of whether it would hurt you! A true friend helps you build back a smile especially when it hurts so bad! A true friend judges you because he/she loves you, not because they have something against you! They dont take things personal unless you say so! They never count the times they were there for you but count on you to be there when they fall as well! A true friend stays on the phone with you for hours when you've had a bad day just to make sure you're going to be ok! When they know something is bothering you without you telling them! When they can be completely honest with you without having to beg "please dont tell." A true friend asks, "so how was your day" with a smile! Someone you can tell your worst fear without having to think twice on whether you should have told them that or not! Someone who knows what triggers you to get mad or sad or even hurt! Not to mention, someone who respects every aspect in your life and understands why you are the way you are sometimes!
There are so many different types of views of what a true friend is! I guess it just all depends on how you like to be treated and how you treat others!-kind of like the golden rule!
